Two eras in time– one life changing adventure

“Train” traces the unforgettable journey of Louisa LaPlante, an American girl uprooted from suburban comfort and dropped into the cobblestoned heart of Antwerp in the 1970s. At twelve, awkward and unprepared, she’s thrust into a foreign world of intrigue, misadventure, and danger. Europe becomes her classroom: calamitous journeys across borders, encounters with shadowy characters, and the dizzying thrill of first love with a boy who doesn’t share her language. Through it all, the pulse of Euro‑pop and glam rock hums in the background—an intoxicating soundtrack to her coming of age.

Decades later, Belgium is only a distant memory. Louisa, now reeling from divorce, finds herself at a crossroads. When her mother surprises her with a trip back to Antwerp, nostalgia surges like a fever. The city’s streets, the music, the ghosts of her youth—all rise up to meet her. To make peace with her fractured present, Louisa must retrace the steps of her past and confront the choices that shaped her.

A whimsical autobiographical fiction, “Train” celebrates the bittersweet power of memory and the way nostalgia can transform a soul—and perhaps, save a life.

Train…reimagined will be available late 2026 on Amazon and at most major online book retailers worldwide.
